Inserted in the Baia del Sole, in a privileged position, gathered between Capo Santa Croce and Capo Mele, Laigueglia preserves in its alleys, in the squares overlooking the sea, in the churches and sanctuaries, its past built by fishermen, sailors and merchants.
Also for these characteristics, Laigueglia has been selected as one of “The most beautiful villages in Italy”.
The “heart” of Laigueglia is the historic centre: the “gut” rich in history and traditions, which develops linearly along the coast, among interesting examples of religious artefacts and private buildings, among the narrow alleys and open spaces overlooking the sea.
Sbarco dei Saraceni
The landing of the Saracens is an exciting historical representation that recreates the attack of the Saracen pirates on Laigueglia in 1546. Spectators witness a clash between the natives and the invaders, with faithfully reproduced boats and a show immersive pyrotechnics. The event lasts about an hour and a half, followed by a sleepless night with shops and clubs open until late. A unique and unmissable event that catapults the public into the past and history of the community of Laigueglia.
Percfest
The Percfest is a jazz festival held annually in Laigueglia. This event has become very famous both nationally and internationally, thanks to its high quality concert offer. In addition, the festival also offers drumming concerts on the beaches, nightly improv sessions, a music-themed art exhibition and takes place in a unique atmosphere that makes every day attractive, varied and unmissable.
Trofeo Laigueglia
The Laigueglia Trophy is the historic cycling race that takes place around Laigueglia every year between the months of February and March, and is one of the so-called spring classics. It has always been the race that opens the season. It is the first real challenge between the greats of cycling, at world level, a historic race that many would like in their palmares, a few weeks before the Milan – Sanremo.
